A little about us
Meet the Founder
Hayloft Cafe was founded in 2021 by Canadian National Team Long Track Speed Skater, Hayden Mayeur. It’s no secret that funding is a weak point in our amateur sports system, and working a 9-5 is often out of the question for athletes training twice a day up to 6 days a week. Hayden figured that by starting a small business of his own, he could take better control of his working hours, allowing him to put more of his focus back onto the ice. The very first year Hayloft allowed him to leave his part time job, he earned his first career World Championship medal.
The cafe has now grown into the leading mobile espresso bar service in Southern Alberta, and we are proud to have incorporated an athlete owned & operated business model. Hayloft acts as a hub for Team Canada athletes to work around their training schedules, at a significantly inflated wage so they can focus on chasing their Olympic goals rather than their finances. By hiring us, you’re not only supporting small business, but also the next generation in Canadian high performance sports.
